Over the years, Hugo Commodities has developed an exciting commodities business not only in the West Africa sub-region but in Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond. The vision of the company’s Founders is to create a business that can thrive on in the continent and beyond under all political circumstances.

Our aim is to establish ourselves as a credible provider of commodities in today’s dynamic current and new emerging commodities markets. We believe that there has never been a better time to work with local commodities merchants (suppliers and exporters).

AGRICULTURE
WHO WE ARE

Through our Agriculture Division and Partners, we are able to source, handle, process and market a wide range of agricultural commodities. We do this by buying directly from producers and farming co-operatives in our network. We work across the entire supply chain to provide the very best products.

Our focus is on sustainability, quality, predictability and customer service-relying on a network of assets that include: strategically placed storage facilities, reliable shippers, proactive banks, trained Quality Assurance/testing agents, facility managers, processing plants and officials at port terminals. Historically, the development process in sub-Saharan African has been often associated with the industrialization of rural economies by means of productivity growth in the agricultural sector and the development of export-oriented agriculture. Cash crops are a major source of export revenue for much of sub-Saharan Africa, providing the livelihood for millions of rural households.

Given their key role in the development and as a vehicle for poverty reduction, we are focused on how to promote the production of these crops, how to create the enabling conditions for small-holders to benefit from the opportunities created by commercial agriculture, and how to assist with the formulation of public policies to facilitate this process. With a strategy driven by excellence, a reliable network, solid infrastructure, and strong relationships, Hugo Commodities is able to meet the needs of our ever-growing customer base around the world.
